PROJECT SPOTLIGHT:

Great Hall Refurbishment at Boringdon Hall

  • Client: Philema Hospitality Management
  • Project: Great Hall Refurbishment

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
We were delighted to work with the hotel group on this project at Boringdon Hall. This first project together involved the sympathetic refurbishment of the Great Hall, a space used for afternoon teas and light lunches. 
PROJECT CHALLENGES:
We worked through the night to put the finishing touches to the project, without disturbing the guests. There was also the challenge of working around scaffolding brought in to hang curtains. 
PROJECT OUTCOMES:
The space was completely transformed into a stunning place for guests to dine and relax. Since this project, we have also worked with the hotel group on bedroom and lounge bar projects at Fistral Beach Hotel and The Esplanade Hotel. 
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT:

Reception at China Fleet Golf and Country Club

  • Client: China Fleet Golf & Country Club
  • Project: Main Reception Area
  • Location: China Fleet Golf & Country Club, Plymouth, Devon
  • Services Provided: Design, Fit, Supply and Project Management
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
As part of a long-standing relationship with China Fleet, we were involved in the makeover of the club’s main reception areas. The space was transformed from an area with little character to a welcoming and modern first impression for guests. 
PROJECT CHALLENGES:
Price engineering was a challenge on this project. The client had a budget in mind and the goal was to find a solution which matched their needs and delivered the high quality they were looking for. 
PROJECT OUTCOMES:
The project was featured in Premier Hospitality Magazine. Through this project and others, we’ve played a part in the resort upgrading from a 3 star to a well respected 4 star. Occupancy levels at the resort have also increased thanks to the range of projects, as have customer comments - especially about the quality of the beds. 
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT:

Tea Room Restoration at Pendennis Castle

  • Client: English Heritage
  • Project: Tintagel Café restoration 
  • Location: Pendennis Castle, Falmouth, Cornwall 
  • Services Provided: Supply of bespoke furniture
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
It was a joy to work on this restoration project at Tintagel Café, set within Tintagel Castle. The old tea room and wedding venue (Pendennis Castle) was transformed into a bright and airy space for visitors. It combines modern needs with a look which is sympathetic to the history of the building. 
PROJECT CHALLENGES:
Location and access were challenges on this project. A separate vehicle had to be brought in to the castle gates as the delivery truck could not gain access. This was challenging due to the weather. Furniture also needed to be ferried by the contractors from the main visitors’ entrance down the very thin and windy road.
PROJECT OUTCOMES:
The refurbished cafe was rated within the Top 10 Best Refurbishments in The Times in 2014.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT:

Gaia Spa

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
This was an exciting project to work on. The new build at Gaia Spa involved working from plan, walking the building site and many days spent camped out at the hotel. We worked with the owners on budgets, fabrics, ideas and bespoke furniture. 
PROJECT CHALLENGES:
As with any new build project, there were some delays involved with the build. This had a knock on effect on budgets, so we worked closely with the owners to adjust accordingly. 
PROJECT OUTCOMES:
Gaia Spa has won many awards, including Best Spa in Europe and Best Interiors. The spa, along with Boringdon Hall, has been awarded 5 star status.
